Rugged Samsung a657 introduced by AT&T
If it’s beautiful phones you’re looking for, AT&T’s new Samsung a657 will probably not be of interest to you.
And that’s because the a657 is a rugged and tough handset “built to withstand the harshest conditions and most demanding users.”
Like AT&T’s previously released rugged phone from Samsung (Rugby a837), the a657 has Push to Talk (PTT) capabilities.
Unlike the Rugby, though, the new phone is a candybar:

- Dual band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (850/1900 MHz)
- 176 x 220 pixels display with 262K colors
- AT&T Navigator (with a dedicated GPS key)

- Email, Instant Messaging
- Bluetooth 2.0
- USB 2.0
- 100 MB of internal memory
- microSDHC card support, up to 16GB
- Talk time: up to 3 hours
- Standby time: up to 10.5 days
- 4.53 x 2.05 x 0.77 inches
- 4.34 ounces
For the moment, Samsung a657 doesn’t seem to be available for purchase, but you can see it on AT&T’s Business webpage.
