LG Viewty Smart GC900 officially outed

It looks like LG found a new routine  to wet our appetite for their upcoming high end handsets.

It started with LG KM900 Arena:

First comes the leak through some dealer outlet, then we get a posting on one of the official LG Country blogs, official pre-announcement and then the official launch.

It worked quite well with LG Arena, and they are doing this again with LG Viewty II GC900 phone, which, from today will be known as LG Viewty Smart GC900.

It has been semi-oficially revealed  on an official LG Germany blog (Update: looks like it was an accident. The pictures were removed in a few hrs.)

Already known LG Viewty Smart GC900 specs include:

Today’s announcement adds that LG Viewty Smart is only 12.4 mm thick and records videos at 720×480 px resolution.

It confirms that this handset  is headed for Orange mobile network and shows LG Viewty II Smart back without Xenon flash that should be there (probably a mistake):

That’s about it for now. But with this semi-official outing today, the official LG Viewty Smart GC900 announcement/ launch should not be more then a couple of weeks away.

    Now I wonder, if they forgot to add it in photoshop of the press pic, or has it been removed from the final model?

    Looks to me like they forgot, since the pic does not seem to have ANY flash, which would be stupid for this kind of phone.

    Also official specs at dealer event in Netherlands had it and live pics from MWC had it as well. And now German LG blog post have been removed, so it was probably a mistake.

    But we'll know one way or another in a few days.

    Good catch on no Xenon flash on LG Viewty II :). Looks more like a mistake
    in the photoshop image to me.

    No I'm not that man from the mobile-review.com forums :)
    Now on the flash topic - on this pic: http://www.unwiredview.com/wp-content/uploads/2... we can clearly see that the Viewty Smart has a single LED flash just right to the camera. I wonder if it's Power LED as in W995 (a.k.a. Hikaru) or not.

    Anyway the more important thing is that this phone was one of the mysterious devices under a glass in the MWC 2009 in Barcelona and even then it featured a LED flash. So I'm pretty sure that it has a flash and it's a LED one.

    I wish I am terribly wrong, but I'm not :) That's why I'll buy the Arena tomorrow.
