2 million LG Arena phones ordered worldwide
Back in March, LG said that there were 1 million LG Arena phones pre-ordered – after only one month since the company announced the handset.
Meanwhile, the phone was released in Europe (for the retail price of €399), and, according to the Taiwanese division of LG, 2 million LG Arenas have been ordered around the world.
These numbers make the Arena one of the most popular touchscreen handsets of 2009, alongside LG Cookie and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
Of course, the Arena has more features than the two devices mentioned above, and it’s also more expensive, so its “rivals” will actually be the likes of Samsung Omnia HD and Apple’s third-generation iPhone.
Anyway, it looks like LG is doing quite well lately. In addition to selling millions of Arena and Cookie phones, the company has also announced it shipped 20 million QWERTY handsets since 2005. Also, the LG Smart GC900 Viewty II is on its way, so the future looks quite bright for LG.
