Samsung Preston and Samsung Star – new names for the S5600 and S5230
Remember Samsung’s S5600 and S5230 touchscreen phones?
Well, Samsung has decided to give them new “trade names”, as follows: the S5600 is now called Samsung Preston, while the S5230 will go by as Samsung Star.
These names will be used in many countries, but the two phones will not be known as Star and Preston in all markets.
For example, in the UK, the S5230 is known as Samsung Toco Lite, while Polish customers will be able to buy it as Samsung Avila. Also, the S5600 is Samsung Halley in Italy and we’re hearing it will be marketed as Samsung Player in France. A bit confusing, right?

Samsung Star S5230 should be available starting now, in Europe, Middle East Africa, Asia and Latin America. Samsung Preston S5600 will be available later this month, but only in Europe and Asia.
