HTC Magic to become DoCoMo HT-03A – Japan’s first Android phone
Last year, NTT DoCoMo said it would release an Android phone in 2009, and it looks like the largest Japanese carrier is keeping its promise.
According to memn0ck, DoCoMo will soon release the HTC Magic (aka T-Mobile G2 aka MyTouch 3G), under the name of HT-03A.
The Magic / HT-03A will be Japan’s first smartphone to run on Android. Needless to say, it will come with Android 1.5 OS – which was just announced for T-Mobile USA’s customers.
No word yet on the exact release date of NTT DoCoMo’s HT-03A, nor on its price.
Anyway, Android fans over in Japan should be quite happy about the smartphone’s upcoming release
