Samsung a167 GoPhone launched by AT&T, only $70
The same day it announced the upcoming availability of Samsung Jack i637, AT&T has also unveiled the Samsung a167 (or SCH- a167).
Unlike the Jack, which is a Windows Mobile smartphone with loads of features, the Samsung a167 is an ultra-basic device. That’s why AT&T is selling it as a GoPhone, on pay as you go.
The a167 is a clamshell that comes with dual-band GSM/GPRS connectivity (850/1900 MHz), a 128 x 160 pixels internal CSTN display, Web browser, 2MB of internal memory and a VGA camera (even though AT&T says it’s a 1.3MP one).
You can buy the Samsung a167 for only $69.99, from here – no contract agreement is required.
The a167 is the second Samsung GoPhone launched by AT&T this week, after the a177 QWERTY candybar that’s available for $99.99.
