Nokia Ovi Maps 3.0 out of beta; Ovi Contacts now supporting touch phones
We’ve got two announcements coming from Nokia today, regarding Ovi Maps and Ovi Contacts.
First, Nokia has released the final version of Ovi Maps 3.0 for mobile.
We don’t know what’s new in Ovi Maps 3.0 – other than the fact that it’s not a Beta application anymore. But you can download it from this address and see for yourself.
Maps aside, Nokia Ovi Contacts now supports Symbian S60 5th Edition – hence Nokia’s touchscreen phones (N97 and 5800 XpressMusic).
Ovi Contacts for touchscreen handsets has the same features found in the version for S60 3rd Edition. However, on the Nokia N97, users have something new – the “ability to integrate your instant messaging friends with the contact cards in your traditional contact list.”
Moreover, if you have an N97 and use the Favorite Contacts feature, you should be able to see when contacts are online, directly from the smartphone’s home screen.

If you don’t have Ovi Contacts on your Nokia handset, you can download it from here.
