Orange UK announces the iPhone, O2’s exclusivity ends
O2 UK’s iPhone exclusivity is now officially over, as Orange has just announced that it reached an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in the UK, too.
Orange didn’t say when exactly its customers will be able to buy the iPhone, but it should happen sometime “later this year”. Pricing details were also not unveiled.
Orange (which will also offer the Android-powered Motorola Dext) currently allows users to pre-register for the iPhone at this web address.
T-Mobile might also launch the iPhone 3G and 3GS in the UK, but there are no official details about this at the moment.
