Verizon Droid. No Idea what it is, but it’s here, on preorder
By now, all of you, who are at least a little bit interested, know that something called Verizon Droid is comin’.
Yes. Neither you, nor I have an iDea what it is.
I think it might be Motorola Scholes Google phone, or it might be some other thing with Android on it.
But it’s almost here:
Yep. It’s a Verizon Droid campaign, available here. With things like:
- “iDon’t have a real keyboard”
- “iDon’t run simultaneous apps”
- “iDon’t take night shots”
- “iDon’t allow open development”
- “iDon’t customize”
- “iDon’t run widgets”
- “iDon’t have interchangeable batteries”
- “Everything iDon’t”
Pretty obvious shot at iPhone. Here’s their video for this campaign:
As you can see, something is comin’ to Verizon. And with keywords like “Droid” and 10K apps, it’s pretty obvious that it is an Android phone.
For the rest of the confirmation we’ll have to wait…
Stay tuned.
Hat tip to BG for the pointer.

I thnk they want us to read it as “I done it”
IT IS 100% MOTOROLA SHOLES A.K.A DROID AND ANOTHER PHONES DOESNT HAVE MOTOROLA DROID PHONES DROID FOR THE WIN
For a site that is about wireless devices/cell phones. I would expect that you would know the very obvious and old news that Droid is the official name for what has had the code name of Scholes / Tao. It is the very same Moto Google/Android phone.
As far as this ad campaign taking a direct shot at the iPhone, good for them. Apple is getting a taste of their own trash talking. (i.e. their PC vs MAC commercials). I do like that Verizon is taking the approach of going after the iPhone and AT&T in two different commercials. They are two seporate companies, and the issues that people have with the iPhone are not necessary the same issues that people have with AT&T.
I for one know a lot of people who have had problems with their iPhones and that are waiting for end of contracts and something good for them to switch too. Apple needs to change their game plan if they want to keep up with Android.
