Rumored HTC Passion Coming to Verizon, is a HD2 With Android?
It appears that Verizon really DOES have a change of heart on its smartphone lineup. Even so soon after we heard about the upcoming Droid phone series starting off with a couple solid choices (Droid and Droid Eris), another fresh rumor is starting to surface about a mystery device from HTC making its way to Verizon.
That device is being called the HTC Passion, which is actually the CDMA version of the HTC Dragon and is thought of as the Android equivalent to the HD2.
This past week we found leaked shots of the Dragon — or so we thought. It turns out, after TheUnlockr did some additional digging, this particular leaked handset is really the Passion instead.

What does this mean? It means an Android HTC HD2 (of sorts) with 1GHz Snapdragon processor is coming to Verizon sometime soon. And given the carrier’s urgency in bringing Android devices to market, it could be sooner than we think.
One thing to keep in mind, however, is that TheUnlockr is only 90% sure after its research that this really is the Passion. It’s not a lock yet, but it’s as close as most rumors will get to being one.
