Motorola Opus One to be an iDEN Android smartphone?

iDEN handsets are becoming more and more interesting, and it looks like we’ll soon have an Android smartphone for iDEN networks.

Motorola Opus One is the name of the smartphone in question and, according to BGR, it is a full-touch device.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any details about the features of Motorola Opus One, but its touchscreen display is probably a HVGA one, and we can see a photo camera on the back, with flash.

There’s no word yet on when Motorola plans to launch the Opus One. We’ll probably find out more about the phone next year, when it might be announced in the US for Nextel and/or Boost Mobile.

I hope this thing is rugged. With the exception of that iMate phone and some very bulky WinMo devices there are no smartphones on the market that are even remotely close to being rugged enough to use outdoors or that can survive occassional drops that could also be carried in the pocket without a big bulge. http://bit.ly/motorola-opus-expectations
