Google makes Android 2.1 SDK available for download
Although Android 2.1 has been out since the launch of the Nexus One (January 5), it’s only now that the Android 2.1 SDK is available. This obviously means that developers can start making apps for the new version of the Android OS.
A bit surprising is that Android 2.1 “does not add significant user features”, being just “a minor platform release.”
Among the new things that Android 2.1 brings is an updated version of the framework API, which will allow devs to make animated wallpapers similar to the ones the Nexus One has.
More info on how you can download the Android 2.1 SDK can be found here.

Google didn’t say when Android 2.1 will be available for other phones (like Motorola’s Droid), but it shouldn’t be long until this happens.
