The problem i have with Nokia is that it has NOT been exciting since the N95 and to a lesser extent, the N900 which is on a lot of people's minds lately. Nokia hype/rumor/promise then don't announce anything for about 6-8 months and during that timeframe, others are brutally seizing the fraction and attention of the marketshare that was once Nokias. They realised Symbian wasn't perfect by today's standards lacking the more user friendly multitouch and capacititive screens so they felt compelled to give the UI a complete overhaul.

Just because I criticised Nokia, does not make me an avid lover of all things Apple or Android. Don't assume, in fact, i detest all things Apple and believe Android is nothing but hype, these I feel are mass marketed for the American market where the latter is failing to wow European and Asian markets and where the Droid isn't being well received. Open source or not, the casual consumer, which makes up the majority of the market, won't know what on earth that means. What they want is something to wow them and unfortunately, that isn't Symbian or Nokia, it's Crapple's Iphone

Nokia are also trying to focus thier efforts on the developing markets such as China and India, so I don't expect them to rely solely on thier super N8 or S Series to save the day. Whatever the developing markets will approve of, Nokia will target that specific market to meet its needs. Thier emphasis is to make less smartphones to cater to what is already the largest number of mobile users in the world, which is good for them but an impatient wait for us on the next 'superphone' The need to cocentrate your efforts for the developing market also makes the Finns lazier with no breathtaking or groundbreaking innovation, because they sit at the top they don't feel the need to want to stay there because they sell millions of budget handsets in two of the most populous countries in the world. Today Nokia announced augmented reality and 3D, something already being used on Android and Apple although strictly speaking, this was probably one of Nokia's earlier patents that weren't realised as early yet they were beaten to the punch. Nokia announce, but take very long to deliver on thier promises and ultimately end up last, LG have given us an indication on when to expect this technology on thier next handset but Nokia have been tightlipped as always.

On the grounds of your advice, I await what Nokia will bring, but will not feel particularly excited or enthusiastic about the prospects.

600mhz is plenty for symbian, after all its not running a java layer..
