Google Maps 4.1 for Android launched with latitude widgets, “search ‘n swipe” and more
Google has revamped its Maps application for Android and launched it as Google Maps 4.1.
Version 4.1 of Google Maps for Android has a new search results page, which provides “all the info you want on one page.” There are several new buttons that let you get directions, see a place on the map, see it in Street View, or call it.
Also new are: the ability to swipe for more results, a Latitude widget for the homescreen, and a Maps live wallpaper, which lets you “see nearby friends or a map each time you open your home screen.”
Google Maps 4.1 for Android is available now in Android Market and requires phones with Android 1.6 or higher.
