Nokia launches Ovi Music Unlimited (ex CWM) in India

As predicted earlier this month, Nokia is rebranding its Music Store, calling it Ovi Music Store. Moreover, it looks like the Finnish company is also rebranding the Comes With Music service, calling it Ovi Music Unlimited.

Today, both Ovi Music Store and Ovi Music Unlimited have been unveiled in India – we’ve recently heard that Comes With Music would hit India this year, but I didn’t expect it to happen so soon.

Although the Nokia India website suggests Ovi Music Unlimited should be available to Indian customers now, the “Ovi Music Unlimited mobiles and prices” link actually points to Nokia Malaysia’s website – which means the service is not yet accessible in India, but it will probably be starting the next few days.

Like the old Comes With Music, Ovi Music Unlimited will allow buyers of Ovi Music Unlimited phones to download as many songs as they want for a limited period of time (probably 12 months) – Bollywood hits, Indian classical, and international hits are included.

Although, in some countries, songs bought and downloaded via Ovi Music Store are DRM-free, the tracks you get via Ovi Music Unlimited are not, so you’ll be able to use them on only one handset and one PC.
