Leaked: Dell Lightning with Windows Phone 7; LTE version planned for 2011

Although it announced only one smartphone until now (the Dell Aero / mini 3i), Dell has big plans when it comes to its mobile business.

No less than four new Dell smartphones are currently in the making, and they’re all at least interesting.

Appeared over at Engadget, the smartphones are: Dell Lightning, Dell Thunder, Dell Flash and Dell Smoke.

The Dell Lightning runs Windows Phone 7 and it has a portrait sliding QWERTY keyboard. The handset’s quite thin and features a 4.1 inches WVGA OLED touchscreen display, 3G (for both AT&T and T-Mobile), Wi-Fi, GPS, compass, accelerometer, 1GB of ROM, 512MB of RAM, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and a 5MP autofocus camera.

The Dell Lightning should be out in the fourth quarter of 2010, coming with full Flash support – weird, since we’ve heard that Windows Phone 7 won’t support Flash at launch.

An LTE version of the Lightning should be launched in the fourth quarter of 2011 – possibly for Verizon.
