RIM’s BlackBerry 6 OS previewed on video
Although RIM hasn’t officially announced BlackBerry 6 yet (it might do it later today), a video preview of the new OS has appeared on the company’s official YouTube channel.
Optimized for touchscreen devices, BlackBerry 6 OS will feature a new virtual QWERTY keyboard, social networking integration (with Facebook and Twitter widgets), and a new WebKit-based browser.
BlackBerry 6 should be out in the third quarter of 2010. One of the smarthpones that will likely feature the new OS at launch is the BlackBerry 9670 – which is a non-touch smartphone, thus BB 6 will also work on devices with regular displays. BlackBerry 5.0 smartphones (like the Bold 9650 and the Pearl 3G 9100) will probably be upgradeable to BlackBerry 6.
