HTC promises Windows Phone 7 handset for late 2010 (again)
About a month ago, HTC’s CEO Peter Chou stated that the Taiwanese company expects to launch a Windows Phone 7 device before the end of 2010.
Now HTC (which agreed to pay royalties to Microsoft for some patents used in it Android phones) has reconfirmed this plan. So it looks like we will surely see an HTC Windows Phone 7 smartphone launched this year – unless some unpredictable and unwanted delays occur.
There are no exact details on the features of the upcoming HTC WP7 handset, but it will probably have a WVGA touchscreen display and, maybe, a 1GHz processor, too. Maybe it will be a device similar to the Droid Incredible, or the HTC EVO 4G.
HTC aside, there are several other companies that expect to launch Windows Phone 7 devices in late 2010 or early 2011, including Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, Dell, Garmin-Asus and HP.
