Samsung Wave S8500 to be launched in North and South America?
Back in February, when Samsung announced the Wave S8500, it didn’t say where exactly the smartphone would be available. Anyway, we already know that the Wave will be on sale in Europe – and it looks like it might be launched in the Americas, too.
The Bluetooth SIG has recently approved the Samsung GT-S8500R and the GT-S8500M, mentioning that both should be available in North America. Moreover, the GT-S8500L is listed as being headed to South America.
Of course, this doesn’t mean the Wave is 100% coming to the Americas, but there’s a high probability it will.
The Wave (Samsung’s first Bada OS phone) is a GSM / HSDPA device, so if it’s coming to the US, it’s likely that it will be available via either AT&T or T-Mobile.
A hands-on video preview of the Samsung Wave can be watched here.
