T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide finally announced, will ship in June
The myTouch 3G Slide isn’t exactly one of T-Mobile USA’s best kept secrets – we’ve heard a lot about it, and we’ve also seen it quite a few times.
Today, T-Mobile USA has officially announced the myTouch 3G Slide, saying that the new smartphone will be available starting June.
Manufactured by HTC, the myTouch 3G Slide runs Android 2.1 and features a 3.4 inch HVGA touchscreen display, customizable five-pane home screen, 4-row sliding QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, GPS, Swype, 5MP autofocus camera, and an 8GB memory card in the box.
New software features include: Faves Gallery (“presents up to 20 of your favorite people and the different ways to communicate with them – calls, texts, e-mail, instant messaging, social networking updates”), myModes (“helps you draw the line between work and home by creating different themes with home screen apps, widgets and wallpapers to empower people in the different roles they play each day”) and Genius Button (powered by Dragon Dictation from Nuance, it lets you use voice commands to control the handset).
The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide will have three color versions: black, white and red. The smartphone’s price was not announced, but about $150 on contract is probably a good guess.
