Alcatel One Touch XTRA announced in the UK (for Orange)
Alcatel One Touch XTRA is a new affordable phone that will be available soon in the UK, exclusively via Orange – which is also readying the Orange Rio and Orange Lisbon.
The Alcatel One Touch XTRA is presented as a “social networking phone”, and comes with access to Facebook and Twitter.
The handset also features a QVGA touchscreen display, full QWERTY keyboard (with an interesting space key), GSM/EDGE connectivity, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth, MP3 player, FM radio, and a 2MP camera with video recording.
Like the Lisbon and the Rio, the Alcatel One Touch XTRA will be offered by Orange UK on Pay As You Go – for only £49.99 (about $76).
Alcatel says that it will also launch an Android smartphone in the UK later this year (it might be the Palm Pre-like Alcatel OT-980).
