HTC Desire and HTC Smart finally available at O2 UK

HTC Desire and HTC Smart should have been available at O2 UK since April, but the carrier has only now started to sell them.

These two devices (both announced in early 2010) are quite different: the Desire is a high-end Android 2.1 smartphone, while the Smart is more like a smartphone wannabe, being based on Qualcomm’s Brew platform.

Already launched by other major UK carriers (like Orange), the HTC Smart features a WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, Sense UI, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP autofocus camera, and a Snapdragon processor at 1GHz.

You can also find Sense UI on the HTC Smart, but this handset only comes with a QVGA touchscreen display, 3.5mm headset jack, 3.2MP camera and a 300MHz processor.

O2 UK is offering both the Desire and the Smart for free on select plans. Customers can get the phones via O2’s online shop.
