Cincinnati Bell first to launch the Motorola Motoroi in the US?
Rumors about the Motorola Motoroi hitting the US started floating around back in January, but, until now, no US carrier has announced anything related to the smartphone. And while users are probably expecting the Motoroi to be launched by big operators (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint), it looks like the first to actually sell the handset will be Cincinnati Bell.
The regional carrier (less than 1 million subscribers) has already introduced its own Android smartphone, the Cincinnati Bell Breeze, and it also sells the Google Nexus One. Now, according to Phandroid, Cincinnati Bell plans to offer the Motorola Motoroi starting the third quarter of 2010.
Cincinnati Bell’s Motoroi might be the upgraded Motoroi that will be launched in the UK soon, but that’s just a guess. In any case, the smartphone should feature a WVGA touchscreen display, Android 2.1 (or maybe Android 2.2 Froyo – which will certainly be out in Q3), Wi-Fi, GPS, HDMI port, and a 5MP or 8MP camera with HD video recording.
