HTC EVO 4G supplies arrive in Sprint stores

If you plan to buy a Sprint HTC EVO 4G this Friday (when it launches across the US) and fear that it might be quickly sold out, it looks like you shouldn’t, as Sprint’s apparently doing its best to make sure everyone can get the smartphone.

A user over at the Android Central Forums is reporting that Sprint Corporate stores “will have plenty of EVOs” on launch day. Stores will be open at 8AM, so if you want to be certain you get an EVO, try to pay a visit to a nearby store early in the morning.

These below are boxes full of EVOs found in a Sprint store, while the other photo shows accessories (cases, more exactly).

Of course, there will be several other places where the EVO 4G will be available, including Best Buy, and HTC’s online shop (where the world’s first WiMax Android smartphone will be sold for $199.99 without mail-in rebate – new 2-yr Sprint contract is required, though).

I pre-ordered at Best Buy but am starting to worry that I should just go to Sprint Store at 8am and get mine. Seems like Best Buy isn't sure if they will have enough and the ones they get will they acutally be saved and promised for the people who took time to pre-order it. I will be expecting a full refund from Best Buy with a free $50 gift card for failing to live up to their promise.

if you pre-ordered it, why are you worried you wont get it,.

I got a call from my local Best Buy today. They received them today as well, and had me make an appointment to pick my 3 up and get them activated. 11am Friday – woot!

got my appointment for best buy set up last week so stoked!

And what promise did they not live up to? Pre-ordered mine with a $50 deposit and they gave me a $50 gift card in return – I essentially bought a $50 gift card. I can spend the card for the EVO or not but one of 29 EVOs at the store is mine. I have an appt for 7am. Did you get an appt?

BTW: With all the bad battery reviews EVO has been getting I was a little concerned, but only a little. We'll see how the 1500mAh holds up but I did run across an extended life battery (3500mAh) that will be available from this vendor. Something to watch.

Not thrilled about adding thickness however I'm used to carrying an iPhone with a Mophie Juice Pack. That's big.
