Nokia N9 with MeeGo and new Nokia X5 slider show up (video)

Nokia’s first MeeGo smartphone might be the Nokia N9, a slider that seems to take the N8 to the next level with the addition of a QWERTY keyboard.

There’s a leaked video on the Web that apparently shows an early version of the Nokia N9. And although we can’t confirm that this is indeed the real N9, Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-review says it is – or at least it’s a handset that “looks like the real one”.

Like the Nokia N97, the N9 has a tilting display (its resolution and size are not known – the display could have been bigger, though, given the smartphone’s overall size). The keys on the QWERTY keyboard look weird and too flat, but, as I said, this is likely an early rendering of the device.

No word on when the Nokia N9 will be announced. Anyway, here’s the leaked video:

Another new Nokia QWERTY handset is the X5-01, a square slider that has been officially announced in Singapore. The new X5 is quite different from the Nokia X5 announced in China a few months ago, and it’s targeted at young users. It features Symbian S60, social networking integration (Facebook, MySpace, YouTube), a small QVGA screen, and a 5MP camera.

The Nokia X5-01 will cost around €160 ($195), coming in lots of color versions, including pink, blue and lime/green. I really don’t like its design, but there are probably lots of users that will not be bothered by it. Hands-on video below:

Please reread what Eldar is saying. He states that it looks similar to a real device from Nokia, but not necessarily the N9. In fact, it is much more likely that it looks like a N8-with-qwerty, which could be named N8-01.

Video's probably a fake, just the sound alone is a giveaway. Also, the device photo looks very blurry and more like an early rendering.

    Not convincing.

Sad that X5 is still S60 and 320×240. Nokia is stuck to old UIs and old screens.

^^ the author's name isn't eldar btw, just the dude from the link.

But what Casra is saying has logic to it, because 90% of the web is convinced that this video is a fake anyway, what you're saying is that it may be an N8-01 with a qwerty, which to most of us is just pie in the sky. Look closely, amalgamate the Droid/Iphone and Touch Pro 2 and you have this video which looks very unconvincing to say the least.
