Samsung Galaxy Apollo i5801 coming to Orange UK
It turns out that the Galaxy Apollo seen over the week-end is actually the Samsung Galaxy i5801, showcased by Google last month alongside the Galaxy i5500.
The Galaxy Apollo i5801 has appeared at Orange UK’s website, and the carrier promises it will offer the smartphone soon, for free on select contracts.
Orange says its Galaxy Apollo is black, although only the back is black – the front is dressed in grey. The handset runs Android, as expected (probably version 2.1), and features a 3.2 inch display (maybe Super AMOLED), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Video Messaging, 3MP autofocus camera, and a 1GB memory card.
I expect the Samsung Galaxy Apollo i5801 to be available via other European carriers, too. The smartphone’s price is not known at the moment – it should be quite lower than the price of Samsung Galaxy S, though.
