HTC Droid Incredible to get HD video recording and mobile hotspot capabilities via OTA update

It looks like a new OTA update is coming soon to Verizon’s HTC Droid Incredible, and while this won’t change the Android version it’s running (it’s still going to be 2.1, although Froyo should be on its way, too), it will bring two new important features.

According to Droid-life, the Incredible will have mobile hotspot capability, while its camera will be able to shoot HD (720p) video – these new features will make the Droid from HTC seem less dated when compared to the Motorola Droid X.

Another new thing that the upcoming OTA update will bring is the Droid Red Eye boot animation (not really useful, but definitely cool).

A couple of images and a video that seem to prove this alleged update is legit:

Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on the date the OTA update will be released.

By the way, if you’ve preordered the Droid Incredible and didn’t receive it yet, you will be able to get the Droid X instead (starting July 15).

Wouldnt the Incredible need a HD camera in order to shoot 720p video and not just a OTA update?

    It has a still 8MP camera that shoots at 3264 x 1952 so I don't see why It couldn't record at 720p.
