Nokia Ovi Contacts graduates from Beta Labs
Nokia has announced that Ovi Contacts (the service initially launched as Nokia Chat) has graduated from BetaLabs and will come preinstalled on new devices.
Owners of compatible S60 3rd Edition FP2 and S60 5th Edition smartphones can also get the latest version of Ovi Contacts, via a software update.
Nokia brags about the success of Ovi Contacts, saying it has been downloaded almost 300,000 times since the initial launch (about 18 months ago).
Nokia also says that it plans to include some of Ovi Contacts’ features into Nokia Messaging Chat – which, apparently, will remain Nokia’s only application that provides “access to multiple IM communities, including Ovi Chat.”
More info on Ovi Contacts (plus a download link) can be found here at Nokia’s website.
