Telus starts HTC Desire employee training, will launch INQ Chat 3G

Telus is getting really close to introduce the HTC Desire in Canada, as the carrier has reportedly started employee training for the Android 2.1 smartphone (which won’t be named Triumph after all).

Right now, it’s said that the Desire will hit Telus’ shelves before the end of this month (July).

There’s still no word on pricing, but I’ve been looking through Telus’ smartphone offering and I think the Desire will cost less than $200 with a 3-yr contract (the Motorola Milestone, for example, costs $149.99).

Another new phone that’s coming to Telus is the INQ Chat 3G:

It doesn’t run Android (although INQ plans to launch Android devices), but it comes with a full QWERTY keypad, 2.2 inch QVGA display, 3G, GPS, Facebook, Skype and Twitter apps integrated, and a 3.2MP camera. The INQ Chat 3G should be available starting the coming months.
