Nokia C6-01 officially shows up, has 8MP camera

Nokia’s stupid odd way of launching slightly different versions of the same phone under slightly different names is in the news again.

This time we’d like you to meet the Nokia C6-01, which is pretty much like the Nokia C6-00, but its camera has 8MP instead of 5MP, and dual LED flash instead of a single LED flash. The back cover has also been redesigned.

The C6-01 appeared over at Nokia Netherlands’ official website, although it wasn’t announced in a press release or anything like that.

This is the back of the C6-01 (the model number is visible at the bottom):

And, for comparison, this is the back of the C6-00:

The front of the C6-01 is similar to the one of the C6-00, as are the rest of its features (QWERTY keyboard, 360 x 640 pixels touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, Ovi Maps with free navigation etc). The phone is priced at €279 (the C6-00 should be around €220) and you can check it out here.

as far as I am concerned, the only stupid thing aout this is the 'blogger/author's' choice of words which is leaning onto bias. Isn't the whole point of reporting to be fair and square, this site is now becoming a joke, it's sad as I frequent on here often only to have journalists express such a one sided opinion and view in thier reporting, quick to criticize Nokia and co and being PR Cheerleaders for HTC and Apple. I will refrain from using this site ever again and will certainly not be reccommending other to use this site either.

Well, it's your choice to read whatever you like.

As for reporting about things “fair and square”, we try to do that, and if
we are wrong we admit it.

But that does not mean we are just reposting naked facts. Observation based
opinion/bias or whatever you want to call it, is always encouraged on UV.

In this particular case, do you think that the putting a
new, unannounced phone model on official site, without any press release,
or other info is a smart way to launch a new product?

Just so you know, I like Nokia better than Apple. But seriously, naming phones C1-00, C1-01, C1-02, X5-00, X5-01, C6-00, C6-01 is stupid, regardless of how good the phones may be.

If you criticize a brand it doesn't mean you don't like it, it may just mean you want it to do better.

Was I criticizing Nokia when recommending the N8 over the Samsung Galaxy 3:… ?

    You're overreacting anyway.

“Stupid” and sufficiently informed is the author of this news! 😉 If you do not know what's going on with the Nokia C6-01 – don't write about it. Make yourself how it looks at this issue -> “” and “”!
