Apple delays white iPhone 4 again, won’t be available until “later this year”
Bad news if you were waiting for the predicted July release of the white iPhone 4.
Apple has delayed the white iPhone 4 again, this time indefinitely, saying it will be available later this year. Which may mean anything, including that you should expect it to launch in December.
Apple is quoting manufacturing challenges as the reason, whatever those may be.
This doesn’t affect the availability of the black iPhone 4 in any way.
Here’s the full text of the very brief statement about the white iPhone:
White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
This comes mere days after Apple announced a record quarter and more or less fixed the antenna problem. I bet they hoped there wouldn’t be any more bad news surrounding their latest iPhone this soon. This time, however, it’s entirely of their own making.
