Verizon Droid Incredible delays almost over, Droid X sold out, Droid out of stock for Droid 2 launch
There’s some pretty good news (well, at least better than before) today for those wanting to purchase a new Android-powered superphone from Verizon’s lineup.
The much delayed (in part because of display shortages) HTC Droid Incredible is currently stated to be shipping by August 9th, which means there’s only a 3-day delay now between ordering and getting it. Hopefully it won’t get pushed back yet again, and those who’ve been waiting for months to get their hands on an Incredible will be able to do just that.
Next up, the Motorola Droid X. Despite Verizon’s pre-launch assurances that they have enough on stock to go around, this smartphone is sold out. The Droid X is currently expected to ship by August 24th, which is a rather long 18 days of delay. So if you absolutely must have a Droid X and want to order it as soon as possible, be prepared to wait.
The original Motorola Droid is currently out of stock, in yet another sign that the release of its successor, the Motorola Droid 2, may occur next week, perhaps on August 12th as previously rumored.
To round up Verizon’s best of the best for this summer, the Samsung Fascinate is rumored to get a late September release, as we’ve told you before.
When all the delays are finally over, and after the Droid 2 and the Fascinate get released, Verizon will have by far the greatest selection of high end Android handsets in America.
