Nokia N8 on pre-order in the US: $549, coming in late September
Android, BlackBerry, iPhone – they rule the US smartphone market. But that won’t stop Nokia to launch the N8 (its first Symbian^3 smartphone) Stateside.
The launch is scheduled for late September, but you can already pre-order the N8 at Nokia USA’s official website. The full retail price of Nokia N8 ($549) is comparable to the prices of high-end smartphones like the Motorola Droid X and Droid 2, or the Samsung Vibrant and Captivate.
The N8 is the first 12MP phone to be available in the US – and maybe that will make the difference for some.
The new Nokia also features a 3.5 inch, 360 x 640 pixels multi-touch AMOLED display, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, HD video recording, HDMI port, Xenon flash, video calling camera, Ovi Maps with free navigation (worldwide), and 16GB of storage space. If that sounds good to you, go ahead and pre-order the N8 here at Nokia USA.
