Clear photos of the MeeGo-based Nokia N9 leaked?

Nokia’s very first MeeGo smartphone, the N9, has apparently showed up in some relatively high-quality photos.

The device seen in these new images looks like that alleged N9 appeared a couple of months ago, and not like the handset that Negri Electronics tried to pass as the N9 (this was likely the N8-01, or a Symbian device anyway).

We still don’t know a lot about the features of the Nokia N9, so let’s stick to what’s obvious (assuming that what we’re seeing here is indeed the N9) : it has a wide touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard that seems easy to use, a front-facing camera, and a flash-equipped photo camera on the back.

The N9 branding is also visible on some sort of key on the left of the QWERTY keyboard.

These photos come at about the same time when new images and videos of the Nokia C7 have also appeared on the Web. It’s hard to keep something secrets nowadays, isn’t it, Nokia?

The N9 could be announced and even launched sometime later this year. More details as we get them.

    Great innovation again from Nokia.

“Let's make it as Apple-esque as possible and replicate all the design cues of the MacBook Pro…”

looks good but as I am involved BIG (http://www.appgiveaway.com) in promoting and giving away paid Apple apps I will be sticking with Apple.

The body of the phone looks nice, but yeah, it most definitely took design cues from the Macbook Pro. You can't deny that.

But you know, there's nothing wrong with that. I say, copy from the best (when it comes to product/industrial design). Now let's see that OS in action.

I also kind of feel bad for the N8; I'm sure this'll kill a number of sales for that, and prospective customers will just wait for the N9.

Apple is now an idiot for not coming out with a QWERTY based iOS device before now. Apple followers will undoubtedly see the similar design and feel its a nice compliment to their expensive OSX laptops.

too late to the party, Apple. not smart.

Might as well. People have been begging for a QWERTY iPhone, and they refused to give it to them. Nokia, enter stage right…
