AT&T HTC T8788 Windows Phone 7 media oriented device shows up
Are you sick and tired of Windows Phone 7 devices leaking everywhere? Tough luck. For after the previously seen LG C900, E900 and GW910 and the Samsung i917 Cetus, it’s HTC’s turn.
The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has been mainly known for its Android devices in recent times, but that will all change with the release of Windows Phone 7. After all, before the Android craze started, HTC was the No.1 maker of Windows Mobile phones. Whether or not they’ll gain that status for the upcoming WP7 as well remains to be seen, but one of their first smartphones running Microsoft’s new mobile OS has just been pictured.
This is the HTC T8788 for AT&T. Naturally, this is just a codename, and the handset will surely receive an easier to remember moniker by the time it hits the streets.
And yes, it’s a slider. However, sliding doesn’t reveal a QWERTY keyboard as you might expect, but a big speaker. A rather strange design, though having no other details to go by yet, who knows, it might actually make sense for one reason or another. It also has a kickstand, so presumably it will be very media consumption-friendly.
You’ll know more the second we do.
