LG Loop GT540 with Android 1.6 launched by Rogers
If you’re in Canada and have a strange attraction to Android 1.x, Rogers could make you happy with its newest smartphone, the LG Loop (aka GT540 Optimus).
The Loop runs Android 1.6 at the moment, and I don’t think LG has any plans of updating it to Android 2.x.
That aside, the handset features a 3 inch touchscreen display (320 x 480 pixels), 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, social networking integration (SNS Manager), and a 3MP autofocus camera with video recording. Rogers even throws in a free 2GB memory card in the retail package.
The LG Loop is being sold online by Rogers for as low as $29.99 with a 3-yr contract agreement. You can also buy the handset free of contract for $299.99.
