Nokia 5250 now official: Ovi Music Unlimited, €115, Q4
That little Nokia 5250 that kept showing up in unofficial photos has just been announced by Nokia as a “music-centric device aimed anyone seeking a modern, multipurpose mobile.”
Coming in various color versions, Nokia 5250 features a music player on the home screen, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio, and a free copy of Guitar Hero 5 Mobile. In select markets, the 5250 will include Ovi Music Unlimited, allowing you to download as many songs as you want (for a limited period of time).
Based on Symbian^1, the 5250 comes with a 2.8 inch, 640 x 360 pixels touchscreen display, GPRS/EDGE connectivity, social networking integration, 2MP camera, 51MB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support (up to 16GB).
There’s no 3G, no Wi-Fi, and GPS also seems to be missing (which means there’s no free navigation). On the bright side, it’s said that battery life is “excellent”: up to 7 hours of talk time, up to 24 hours of music playback, or up to 18 days of stand-by time.
Nokia expects to launch the 5250 in the fourth quarter of the year. The handset will be cheap (although not as cheap as we initially thought): €115 before taxes and subsidies. Will you buy it?
