New HTC Android Froyo QWERTY phone for Verizon (Merge? Lexikon?) in the wild
Verizon’s HTC PD42100 is in the news again, this time because it has appeared in live photos which confirm that the handset is running Android 2.2 Froyo.
What the new photos don’t confirm is the smartphone’s final name.
Verizon may call it HTC Lexikon, or HTC Merge (the device’s model number is ADR6325, which apparently corresponds to the Merge name).
Like the Samsung Fascinate, this HTC handset will probably not be part of the oh-so-successful Droid series. Even so, it has enough attractive features, including a full QWERTY keyboard, WVGA display, 5MP camera with flash, and global roaming capabilities.
Verizon may launch the HTC Merge / Lexikon before the end of this year, although, for the moment, there are no details to confirm this.
