Angry Birds for Android passes 2 million downloads, crashes GetJar servers
The full version of the popular Angry Birds game has been launched this Friday for Android, first via GetJar and quickly after via Android Market, too.
Rovio (the game’s developer) says on Twitter that, since then, Angry Birds for Android was downloaded 2 million times.
The maybe unexpected success caused GetJar’s servers to crash and thus the website was down for some time. Everything’s back to normal now, though.
Angry Birds is currently available for Android 1.6 (or later) smartphones with screen resolutions higher than QVGA (this means HTC Wildfire users can’t play it yet). The game is free, but it contains ads.
