Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones this quarter
Apple has announced the financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter (ending September 25). And once again, records have been broken.
Revenue was at $20.34 billion and the net quarterly profit was $4.31 billion. During last year’s fiscal fourth quarter, these numbers were significantly lower: $12.21 billion in revenue and $2.53 billion of net quarterly profit.
Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones during this quarter, which represents a 91% increase compared to the year-ago quarter and a 67% increase compared to the previous quarter. 4.19 million iPads were sold during the quarter, which brings the total number of iPads sold to 7.46 million.
Steve Jobs interestingly mentioned that Apple sold 2 million more iPhones than RIM sold smartphones during their most recently-reported quarter and said that they still have some surprises left for the remainder of this year. We’ll just have to patiently wait and see if he was referring to a CDMA iPhone or not.
