Expected to be announced before the end of this month, the Froyo-based Acer Liquid Metal has been spotted in the wild somewhere in Thailand.
More importantly, Droid Sans (the website that published the new photo of the Liquid Metal – seen below) has also unveiled what seems to be an Acer Android tablet, plus another Acer smartphone – also based on Android, of course.
The Acer tablet looks quite big, so it could have a 9 to 10 inch display – if that’s true, it will directly compete with Apple’s iPad. The tablet (pictured below) might be announced in January next year.
As for the new Acer Android smartphone, it looks really interesting. Its display doesn’t seem to have the standard WVGA or HVGA resolutions – it’s too narrow for that. Maybe Acer opted for a 345 x 800 pixels resolution, a la the LG BL40? Though I’m not sure if Android supports that. Anyway, check out the smartphone yourself (and see the Engadget app, the front-facing camera, and the Dolby Sound label on the back):
No word yet on when this new Acer Android smartphone will be announced.
