Nokia N8 coming to Orange UK this weekend (HD Voice-enabled), Rogers Canada later
Orange UK has announced (via Twitter) that it would offer the Nokia N8 to its customers starting this weekend.
The new Symbian smartpohne will be available for free on select plans, coming with HD Voice (which reportedly delivers “excellent audio quality to mobile calls”).
Orange UK currently offers only four other HD Voice-enabled handsets: the Nokia X6 16GB, Nokia E5, Nokia 5230 and Sony Ericsson Elm.
The N8 will also be launched in Canada soon, where – according to Mobile Syrup – Rogers plans to sell it starting the coming weeks as Canada’s first 12MP cameraphone.
There’s no word on the price of the N8 from Rogers yet, but it’s worth mentioning what the Canadian carrier points out in the internal document seen above: “a new 12 megapixel camera costs approximately $300-$400.” Of course, the N8 should cost less than that on contract, but more if you want to get it off contract.
