Sprint Samsung Moment gets a bugfix firmware update

Sprint has released a firmware update for the (aging) Samsung Moment. This sadly isn’t an update to Android 2.2 Froyo. The phone will still be on Android 2.1 Eclair.

The update is aimed at fixing bugs and will address issues with inability to dial 911 (which happens after a modem crash related to airplane mode and data lockup), and bring some enhancements to the proximity sensor and screen lock.

The update will slowly roll out over-the-air. Your phone should automatically download it and prompt you to install. If for some reason the update doesn’t reach your Moment, you will be able to download it from Sprint’s website starting on November 3. The update will bring your phone’s software to version DJ07.

OK, I disagree that the moment is a piece a crap. The moment was one of the first android phones to hit Sprint. Older versions aren’t always the hottest out right now but they can still be great. Next year people will be saying the Epic and EVO are pieces of crap because they’re not the newest phones out. Narrow minded people.
