The new QWERTY Nokia X2-01 is like the C3, but not really

Nokia is getting ready to launch its second S40 QWERTY phone (the first one being the very popular C3-00, available around the world since June).

The new phone is the unannounced Nokia X2-01. Like the C3, the X2-01 has a QVGA landscape display, a full QWERTY keyboard beneath it, GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (no 3G), Bluetooth, FM radio, and MicroSD card support.

So what’s different from the C3? Well, the X2-01 lacks Wi-Fi, it has a changed design, a dedicated music key, and a 3MP camera instead of a 2MP one.

The X2-01 isn’t the first QWERTY device included in Nokia’s X-series – the Symbian-based X5-01 slider is.

Since the C3 can be bought for about $120, the X2-01 will probably be available for a similar price. Unfortunately, we don’t know when Nokia plans to announce and launch the new handset.
