LG Optimus M available from MetroPCS on November 24
MetroPCS has announced that it’s preparing to add the first Android smartphone to its phone lineup, just in time for the busy holiday shopping season.
On Wednesday, November 24, the LG Optimus M will become available online and in MetroPCS stores. This is MetroPCS’ own version of the LG Optimus One that keeps getting one carrier-customized variant after another – in moves very much resembling what Samsung has done with the Galaxy S.
So slowly, but surely, the LG Optimus One is becoming ubiquitous, and unlike the Samsung Galaxy S, this is an affordable offering at the midrange of the smartphone space – so it can, arguably, sell more.
The LG Optimus M, like its Optimus One brethren, features:
- a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480×320 resolution
- a 3.2-megapixel camera
- 600 MHz processor
- Wi-Fi
- Android 2.2
- Swype pre-installed
The LG Optimus M will have a “high-end champagne finish” and cost $229 with a contract-free $50/month unlimited talk, text and web plan.
