Cheap Huawei Ascend with Android launched by MetroPCS
Released by Cricket in the US in October, the Huawei Ascend is now also available via MetroPCS.
The smartpohne is an affordable one and features AWS, a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, 3.2MP camera, 256MB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support up to 16GB.
Unfortunately, unlike the Ideos (another cheap smartphone from Huawei) the Ascend runs Android 2.1 Éclair, not 2.2 Froyo.
You can buy the Huawei Ascend as of today online (here) and in MetroPCS retail stores. It costs $179 – no contract required, but you’ll need a smartphone plan starting at $50 per month.
