Alltel launches LG Axis, an Android-powered smartphone with a sliding QWERTY
Alltel has launched the LG Axis, a smartphone running Android 2.1. The LG Axis, by all appearances, seems to be a mid-tier offering, and both its specs and its pricing confirm that.
The LG Axis has a 3.2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, and a side-sliding full physical QWERTY keyboard.
Alltel will give you the LG Axis if you decide to part with $89.99 (that’s after a $50 mail-in rebate), and obviously requires you to sign the standard two-year contract.
So if your carrier of choice is Alltel and you’re looking for a rather affordable and rather capable Android smartphone to own, and don’t mind its outdated software version, the LG Axis clearly is the phone for you.
