Samsung has launched a new iteration of its La Fleur collection of phones that are targeted towards women. In Russia, the 2011 La Fleur line will feature the Wave 525 and Wave 723, the C3530 and E2530. All of these phones have been already launched in various markets, but sans La Fleur branding.
The La Fleur versions of these phones are basically the same on the inside, while sporting flowery patterns on the outside.
The Samsung Wave 723 La Fleur is a Bada-powered smartphone that has a 3.2-inch 400×240 touchscreen, quad-band GSM and 900/2100 HSPA, a 5 MP camera with LED flash, 100 MB of built-in memory expandable via a microSD card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 1200 mAh battery. It will be available in February for 12,990 rubles (that’s approximately $436 or EUR 319).
The Samsung Wave 525 La Fleur is basically identical to the 723, save for the camera, Bluetooth version, and design. The Wave 525 has only a 3.2 MP camera (without flash) and support for Bluetooth 2.1. It will also be available in February, for 8,990 rubles (approximately $302 or EUR 221).
The Samsung La Fleur S3530 is a featurephone that comes in a candybar form factor, and has a 2.2-inch 240×320 display, a 3 MP camera, 50 MB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1, quad-band GSM, and a 960 mAh battery. It will be available in February for 5,990 rubles (approximately $201 or EUR 147).
The Samsung La Fleur E2530 is a flip featurephone, also with quad-band GSM support. It has a 2-inch 240×320 internal display, a 1.07-inch CSTN external display, a 1.3-megapixel camera, 10 MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1 support and a 800 mAh battery. It will also be available in February, for 3,990 rubles (approximately $134 or EUR 98).
From the mid-to-high end all the way to the low end, the 2011 La Fleur line has a phone for every taste (as long as it involves flowery patterns) and every pocket. Samsung obviously hopes these will lure women worldwide and sell very well, let’s see if that’s going to actually happen.
