MetroPCS’ Samsung R910 LTE smartphone hits the FCC, should be launched soon

First spotted in a hands-on photo almost one month ago, the LTE-enabled Samsung SCH-R910 has just passed the FCC. As usual, this means the device can now be launched in the US – where MetroPCS will sell it.

The R910 is a touchscreen Android smartphone with a WVGA display, Wi-Fi, 5MP camera, and a 1GHz processor. It will likely be MetroPCS’ second LTE handset, after the Samsung Craft (which was introduced last year).

It’s still not clear if the R910 and the Samsung Forte 4G are one and the same device. I assume they are and, if that’s the case, the handset hides a full QWERTY keyboard under the display, and could be launched on February 11 across MetroPCS’ 4G markets. We’ll keep you posted.

The phone only has a 3ml camera and 3.5″ qvga display. No flash on the camera, feb 23rd is the most likely launch date. The forte is this phone although it could end up being called the indulge.
