Coming soon to Orange UK: LG Pecan, an affordable Android 2.2 smartphone
Orange UK is planning to stock the LG Pecan, a budget smartphone running Android 2.2. The Pecan will be available on Pay as you go. Pricing information is not available yet, but this is clearly going to be very affordable. Whether or not it will be sold cheaper than the Orange San Francisco, the previous PAYG smartphone king of affordability, remains to be seen.
The LG Pecan has a 480×320 capacitive touchscreen, a 3-megapixel camera with video recording, HSDPA support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AGPS, 140 MB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card slot, and an FM radio.
The LG Pecan’s dimensions are 113.5x59x13.3 mm, and it weighs 130 grams. There’s no official release date for this device, so if you really want it, perhaps keep an eye on this page over at Orange. What’s clear is that the Pecan is coming soon – you just have to know how Orange defines that word.
